DAY 1  After your overnight flight from the US, you’ll be transported by luxury vehicle to the ultra-luxurious K Club in Straffan, County Kildare, your home for the next  3 nights.  Ireland’s AA Hotel of the Year 2011 offers the very best of pampering, leisure and, of course, golf.  The original house, built in 1832, was modelled on a French chateau and retains many original architectural features, artwork and antiques.  The K Spa  is an oasis of calm and offers a wide range of relaxing treatments for both men and women.  The resort sits on the banks of the River Liffey in 550 acres of gently rolling countryside.  Fly fishing, horseback riding and clay pigeon shooting are also available.

DAY 2  Golf at the K Club.  Where else can you play The Ryder Cup and European Open Courses, both designed by Arnold Palmer, at one venue?  Today, enjoy the challenges of the Palmer Ryder Cup Course.  This must play “badge of honor” course is one of Europe’s most spectacular parkland courses.  Here, you’ll challenge yourself as you pit your wits against those of Arnold Palmer.  (B)

DAY 3  Golf at the K Club.  Absolutely an entirely different course than the Palmer Ryder Cup Course, the Palmer Smurfit Course is that of an inland links on the opposite bank of the River Liffey.  You’ll find many dune type moundings, dramatic landscapes and wild species of native plants leading to a very random, natural setting.  (B)

DAY 4  Today, we’ll continue our journey around Dublin’s Doorstep and arrive at the lovely Carton House Golf Resort in Maynooth, County Kildare .   Carton House was named European Golf Resort of the Year, 2008, and boasts a full complement of amenities including a luxury hotel, fine dining, superb spa and leisure suite and tennis.  This imposing mansion was once the home of the Dukes of Leinster and, although vast, imposing and elegant, will provide you with a warm and luxuriously comfortable home for the next 3 nights.

Play 18 holes on the classic parkland course, designed by Mark O’Meara, which meanders through ancient woods, beautiful pastures and rolls to the very banks of the River Rye.  (B)

DAY 5  Golf at the Carton House’s other championship course, the Montgomerie Course, designed by Colin Montgomerie.  This 7,300 yard “links style” course features firm, sweeping fairways,  impeccable greens and cavernous bunkers….a challenge! (B)

DAY 6 is a day of leisure.  Enjoy the treats of which you can avail at Carton House Resort, including the spa, swimming pool, tennis, personal training, gym, etc.  Or, as an option, we will transport you to the capital of Ireland, Dublin, which is only 14 miles away.  There are endless sightseeing, shopping and dining opportunities in Dublin and we will be happy to share information about our favorites.  (B)

DAY 7  Golf at Killeen Castle Golf Club.  Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2009, Killeen Castle has hosted the Irish Ladies Open from 2010 to 2012 and the 2011 Solheim Cup.  With over 600 acres of beautiful County Meath countryside, this 18 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design Championship course will provide a most enjoyable golfing challenge.

Transport to your luxury Dublin hotel for your last 3 nights. The Burlington Hotel is Dublin’s premier luxury 4-star hotel.  Deeply rooted in tradition, with a cosmopolitan twist, the Burlington is a long-standing favorite of times past and present.  In Dublin’s prestigious “D4” neighborhood, with immediate access to the city center, this is an ideal base from which to explore all that Dublin has to offer.  (B)

DAY 8  Golf at Luttrellstown Castle Golf Course, in Dublin.  This par 72 is an amazing parkland course with rolling countryside, lakes, ancient trees and championship tees measuring in excess of 7000 yards.  Designed by Tom MacKenzie and Donald Steel, the course offers plenty of challenges.  It also offers  unique and custom-built practice facilities including a driving range, short game area and a three-hole short course designed to sharpen the wedge game.  (B)

DAY 9  Golf at Castleknock Golf Club.  Although not as well known as the previous courses, Castleknock ranks in Golf Digest Ireland’s Top 100 Courses for 2012.  The parkland course runs between avenues of giant pine trees  as well as offering panoramic views of the Dublin Mountains and the Liffey River Valley.   The many lakes and water hazards (over 10 acres) enhance the beauty and playability of the course.

DAY 10  Group transport to Dublin Airport for your return flight.  Arrive in plenty of time for check-in and duty-free shopping.  We look forward to welcoming you back soon to explore Ireland’s other fabulous golfing regions!
